Sheffield City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Advanced Practitioner to join our dynamic social work team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our community. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will provide high-quality assessments, interventions, and support to families, working collaboratively with various agencies to promote positive outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored intervention plans. Providing expert guidance and support to less experienced social workers. Leading on complex case management and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Engaging with families and children to understand their needs and aspirations. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to safeguard children effectively. Contributing to training and development initiatives within the team.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
