Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Solihull Council is seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Officer to join our dynamic team within the Qualified Social Work field. This role is pivotal in supporting at-risk youth, facilitating rehabilitation, and promoting positive outcomes. If you have a strong commitment to social justice and a desire to work collaboratively with young individuals, we want to hear from you.

As a Youth Justice Officer, you will be responsible for:

Assessing the needs and risks of young offenders and their families to develop tailored intervention plans. Monitoring and supporting young people on community orders, ensuring compliance and addressing any challenges. Working closely with partner agencies, including schools, mental health services, and law enforcement, to provide holistic support. Facilitating group work sessions and individual counseling to promote personal development and reduce reoffending. Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for court and multi-agency meetings.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, or DipSW). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with young people in a social work or youth justice setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young individuals and their families. Knowledge of youth justice legislation and safeguarding practices.
