We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our Children in Need (CIN) team in Southend-on-Sea. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the needs and rights of children are prioritized and that their voices are heard in the decision-making processes that affect their lives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children in the CIN cohort, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Facilitating meetings and consultations with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback. Monitoring the progress of care plans and advocating for children’s best interests. Providing expert advice and guidance to social work teams and contributing to the development of best practices. Preparing comprehensive reports and documentation for review meetings and court hearings.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

Social Work degree or equivalent qualification, registered with Social Work England. Extensive experience in children’s social work, with a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures. Proven ability to engage with children and families, demonstrating empathy and effective communication skills. Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating leadership and decision-making capabilities.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our LAC (Looked After Children) Team in Southend-on-Sea. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people while working within a supportive and dynamic environment. The role offers a competitive salary ranging from £53,000 to £59,000 per annum, depending on experience.

As a member of our LAC Team, you will be responsible for:

Conducting assessments and developing care plans for looked after children and their families. Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes for children in care. Providing support and guidance to foster carers and residential staff. Preparing for and participating in court proceedings when necessary.
