Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. As a Children's IRO, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting regular reviews of children’s care plans to ensure they meet the individual needs of each child. Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to ensure collaborative decision-making. Monitoring the quality of care provided to children and escalating concerns where necessary. Providing advocacy and support to children in care, ensuring their voices are heard in all aspects of their care. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in children's social work, particularly within the IRO framework. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children and families effectively.
