Leeds City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced LAC Independent Reviewing Officer to join our dynamic team within the Qualified Social Work field. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the best outcomes for Looked After Children (LAC) by conducting independent reviews and assessments. You will play a crucial part in monitoring care plans, promoting the voice of the child, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. As an LAC Independent Reviewing Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting regular reviews of care plans and ensuring they are child-centered and outcome-focused. Facilitating multi-agency meetings to gather comprehensive insights into each child’s needs. Advocating for the rights and views of children and young people in care. Maintaining accurate and timely records of all reviews and meetings. Providing training and support to social work staff on best practices in independent reviewing.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, CSS, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience working with Looked After Children and knowledge of relevant legislation. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
