Cheshire West and Chester is seeking a Lead Child Protection Officer to join our Multi-Agency Child Protection Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to take on a leadership role in safeguarding vulnerable children and ensuring their well-being through collaborative efforts with various agencies.
As the Lead Child Protection Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of child protection plans. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading multi-agency meetings and coordinating responses to safeguarding concerns. Conducting assessments and ensuring timely interventions to protect children at risk. Providing guidance and support to social work staff and other professionals involved in child protection cases. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of child protection strategies and practices. Engaging with families and communities to promote awareness and understanding of child safety.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding within a social work context. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across agencies.
