Leicester City Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Front Door Team. This pivotal role requires a proactive individual who is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families within our diverse community. You will be the first point of contact for referrals and assessments, playing a crucial role in ensuring that vulnerable children receive the support they need.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting initial assessments and managing referrals to ensure timely and appropriate responses. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding. Developing and implementing care plans that meet the specific needs of children and families. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements. Providing support and guidance to families, empowering them to achieve positive outcomes.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Demonstrable experience in child protection and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to best practice and continuous improvement.
