Are you an experienced social worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of families in Lewisham? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding team. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with families, providing support and interventions that empower them to overcome challenges and thrive. Your expertise will help ensure the safety and well-being of children while promoting positive family dynamics.

As a Senior Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of family needs and risks to develop tailored intervention plans. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including health, education, and community services, to coordinate effective support. Providing supervision and guidance to junior social workers and support staff, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in compliance with local authority policies and procedures. Engaging with families to build trusting relationships, ensuring their voices are heard and respected throughout the safeguarding process.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS). Registered with Social Work England. Extensive experience in child protection and family safeguarding. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport with families and stakeholders.
