Are you an experienced social worker with a passion for safeguarding and early intervention? Cardiff Council is seeking a dedicated Principal Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding and Early Help Hub. This pivotal role will involve leading a dynamic team, working collaboratively with various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families in our community.
As the Principal Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
Providing expert guidance and supervision to social work practitioners, ensuring best practices in safeguarding and early intervention. Leading on complex case assessments and interventions, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop robust safeguarding plans. Driving the continuous improvement of service delivery, implementing innovative practices and strategies to enhance outcomes for children and families. Contributing to training and development initiatives, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team. Engaging with stakeholders and community partners to strengthen safeguarding networks and promote early help services.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Care Wales. Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
