Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Safeguarding Team. This pivotal role is designed for a proactive individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide expert guidance and support to social work staff, ensuring the highest standards of practice in safeguarding. Your leadership will help foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading complex case assessments and interventions to safeguard children and young people. Supervising and mentoring social workers, providing support and guidance in case management. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding. Contributing to the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures. Maintaining accurate case records and preparing reports for court and other statutory bodies.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
