Are you a passionate and experienced Senior Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people? Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated professional to join our Children Looked After & Leaving Care Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in care, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need to thrive.

As a Senior Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective care plans for children and young people. Providing expert supervision and support to junior social workers, fostering their professional development. Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure holistic support for children and families. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Engaging with children, families, and external stakeholders to advocate for the best interests of those in care.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in children’s social work, particularly in looked after children or care leavers. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
