Join our dedicated Fostering Team in Barking & Dagenham as a Senior Social Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of vulnerable children and young people. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting foster placements, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained. Your expertise will be essential in providing guidance to foster carers, conducting assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading assessments and reviews of foster placements to ensure compliance with statutory regulations. Providing supervision and support to a team of social workers and fostering staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development. Working closely with children, foster families, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care plans. Conducting training and workshops for foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in fostering or child protection settings. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in social work.
