Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Safeguarding team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals within our community. You will lead assessments and interventions, providing expert guidance and support to junior staff while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans for children and families. Leading safeguarding investigations and managing complex cases to ensure effective outcomes. Providing supervision and support to less experienced social workers, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to enhance service delivery. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with council policies and procedures.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in a safeguarding or child protection setting. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
