Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? Gateshead Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker (AP) specializing in Child Protection to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multi-agency framework to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring they are protected from harm and supported in their development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with families and partner agencies. Maintaining accurate and timely case records, reports, and documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in child protection conferences, court proceedings, and professional meetings. Providing support and guidance to families, helping them to access resources and services.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
