We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker for our Children in Care (CIC) and Looked After Children (LAC) team in Peterborough. This role is pivotal in supporting vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their well-being and advocating for their best interests. As a Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to create and implement effective care plans, promoting positive outcomes for children in care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and reviewing care plans in partnership with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Providing direct support and guidance to children and their families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and families, particularly in a CIC/LAC setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
