We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker specializing in Family Finding to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring that children in care are connected with their family and community, promoting stability and a sense of belonging. As a Social Worker, you will work closely with children, families, and various stakeholders to develop and implement effective family finding strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify potential family connections. Building strong relationships with children in care to understand their needs and preferences. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute family finding plans. Facilitating family meetings and mediating discussions between family members. Documenting case progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Current registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in child protection and family finding practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
