Are you a passionate and dedicated social work professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families? Southampton City Council is seeking a qualified Team Manager to lead our Children In Care Team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive positive change and support vulnerable children and young people in our community.

As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality social work services to children in care. Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring effective service delivery. Providing supervision, guidance, and support to team members, promoting professional development and best practices. Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and local policies, maintaining high standards of safeguarding. Developing and implementing service improvement plans and strategies to enhance outcomes for children in care. Building strong relationships with partner agencies, stakeholders, and families to facilitate collaborative working.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A relevant social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s social work, particularly within a looked-after children's setting. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policy frameworks, and best practices in child protection.
