Join our dedicated Kinship Care Team as a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) in Stockport, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting families and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in kinship arrangements. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and other agencies, to promote positive outcomes for children in kinship care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of kinship placements to ensure they meet the needs of the child. Developing and implementing support plans tailored to the individual needs of children and their kinship carers. Providing ongoing support, guidance, and training to kinship carers to enhance their parenting skills. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children and families.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Experience working in child protection or family support settings, particularly with kinship care. Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and professionals.
