The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a qualified Team Manager to lead our Children & Families team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the delivery of social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and their families within our community.
As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a dynamic team of social workers and practitioners, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing a team of social workers, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and best practice standards. Conducting regular performance reviews and facilitating professional development opportunities for team members. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to develop and implement effective intervention strategies. Managing complex casework, providing expert advice and support to staff on challenging cases. Contributing to service development and improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes for children and families.The ideal candidate will possess a recognized social work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree, CQSW, or equivalent) and hold current registration with Social Work England. Essential skills and qualifications include:
Significant experience in children and families social work, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
