Gateshead Council is seeking a dedicated Children with Disability Manager to lead our dynamic team in providing exceptional support and services to children and their families. As the Children with Disability Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality social work services. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring effective service delivery. Developing and implementing policies and practices that promote the welfare and inclusion of children with disabilities. Working collaboratively with families, schools, and external agencies to create tailored support plans. Monitoring and evaluating service outcomes to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Providing expert guidance and support to staff, promoting continuous professional development.The ideal candidate will possess a relevant Social Work qualification and hold a current Social Work England registration. Essential qualifications and skills include:
Significant experience in children's social work, particularly with children who have disabilities. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of legislation and policies affecting children with disabilities.
