Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. In this vital role, you will ensure that the voices of children and young people are heard and that their rights are upheld throughout the care process.
As a Children's IRO, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback. Monitoring the implementation of care plans and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Providing support and guidance to social workers and other professionals involved in the care process. Advocating for the best interests of children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and families in a social work setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships.
