As a Children's IRO, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
  • Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback.
  • Monitoring the implementation of care plans and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Providing support and guidance to social workers and other professionals involved in the care process.
  • Advocating for the best interests of children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions.
