Join our dedicated team in Wiltshire as a Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people in care. As an IRO, you will be responsible for chairing reviews of children’s care plans, advocating for their rights and needs, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled social worker to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Chairing statutory reviews for children in care, ensuring the participation of children, families, and professionals. Monitoring care plans and progress, providing guidance and support to ensure the best outcomes. Advocating for children’s rights and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care strategies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children’s social work, particularly in child protection or looked-after children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
