Are you passionate about safeguarding children and making a positive impact in their lives? Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Safeguarding Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our community, providing you with the opportunity to make a real difference.

As a member of our Children’s Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for:

Conducting assessments and developing child protection plans in line with statutory requirements. Working collaboratively with families, children, and multi-agency partners to promote the welfare of children. Carrying out home visits to assess and monitor the safety and needs of children. Providing support and guidance to families in crisis, ensuring appropriate interventions are made. Maintaining accurate and timely records of your work in accordance with local policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Proven experience working in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding roles. Strong assessment and analytical skills with the ability to make sound judgments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with families.
