Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker (SSW) to join our Family Support and Safeguarding Team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children while providing vital support to families in need. As a Children’s Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
Assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing care plans. Working collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies to provide holistic support. Conducting home visits and monitoring the progress of children and families. Managing a caseload effectively while adhering to statutory requirements and best practices. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding strategies.To be considered for this position, you must have the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Demonstrated experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and family support. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
