Join our dedicated Children’s Social Work - Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) Team in Walsall, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding and supporting children and families affected by substance misuse. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, and community organizations to promote the welfare of children and ensure their safety and wellbeing. Your expertise will be essential in assessing needs, developing intervention plans, and providing ongoing support to families.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families impacted by drug and alcohol misuse. Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans in partnership with families and relevant agencies. Providing direct support and guidance to children and parents, facilitating access to necessary services. Maintaining accurate and timely case records and documentation in compliance with local policies and procedures. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding discussions and decision-making.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England (SWE) and a clear understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks. Experience in working with children and families, particularly in the context of substance misuse. Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse families.
