Join our dedicated team in Shropshire as a Children's Social Worker within the Fostering Team, where you will play a vital role in improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will work collaboratively with foster families, children, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in our care. Your expertise will help facilitate the fostering process, providing support and guidance to foster carers, and ensuring that children are placed in nurturing and safe environments.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers and ensuring compliance with fostering regulations. Developing and implementing individual care plans for children in foster care. Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster families, ensuring they receive the necessary training and resources. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to promote the welfare of children and support their development. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies and procedures.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in children's social work, particularly in fostering or child protection. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
