We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team in Barking & Dagenham. This pivotal role requires a compassionate professional who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of families in our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop intervention plans, and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored intervention plans for families in need. Providing supervision and guidance to junior social workers and support staff. Collaborating with external agencies, including health and education services, to deliver effective support. Maintaining accurate and timely case records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence when required.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and family safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and professionals.
