An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and committed Senior Social Worker to join a Family Help service in Suffolk. This role is suited to a qualified social work professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and their families through strengths-based, relationship-focused practice.
You will manage a varied caseload involving children and families who may require targeted or intensive support. Working collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, health professionals and partner agencies, you will assess needs, identify risks, develop effective plans and review progress. You will ensure that children’s voices remain central to decision-making and that interventions are timely, proportionate and focused on achieving sustainable change.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will contribute to the development of high-quality practice across the service. Responsibilities will include supporting colleagues with complex cases, providing advice and guidance, contributing to reflective discussions and helping to promote consistent standards of safeguarding and family support. Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration, with substantial post-qualifying experience in children and families social work. Experience of working within a family help, early help, child protection or statutory setting is desirable. You should have a sound understanding of safeguarding legislation, assessment frameworks and evidence-based interventions, together with the confidence to manage risk and make informed professional decisions.
You will need excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A commitment to equality, participation and continuous improvement is essential. A valid driving licence and access to suitable transport may be required for visiting families across the area.
