We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our dynamic team in Sheffield. As a vital member of our Qualified Social Work field, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people. Your expertise will help manage allegations against adults who work with children, promoting best practices and safeguarding standards across the community.
Key responsibilities include:
Investigating allegations against individuals working with children, ensuring a thorough and sensitive approach. Providing advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organizations on safeguarding matters. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure effective information sharing and safeguarding practices. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements. Delivering training and support to staff on safeguarding and child protection issues.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
