We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection/Child in Need (CP/CIN) Team in Stowmarket, Suffolk. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead casework, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver high-quality support and intervention services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and risks of children and families. Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Providing guidance and supervision to junior social workers and support staff. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required. Engaging with families and community resources to promote positive outcomes.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in child protection or child in need settings. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
