Join the Shropshire Children's Looked After Team as a Qualified Social Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. We are seeking a dedicated professional who is passionate about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of looked-after children. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team, ensuring that each child receives the care and attention they need to thrive.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children’s needs and circumstances. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multi-agency partners. Providing ongoing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard. Preparing reports and presenting cases in court when necessary.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognised social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
