Join our dedicated team in Southwark as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) in the Qualified Social Work field. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that the needs and views of children and young people in care are effectively communicated and considered in their care plans. Your expertise will contribute to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families within our community.

As an IRO, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting regular reviews of care plans to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback. Monitoring the progress of care plans and making recommendations to promote the best interests of children. Providing support and guidance to social workers and other professionals involved in the care process. Ensuring that children’s voices are heard and that their rights are upheld throughout the review process.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience working with children and families, preferably in a statutory setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent analytical skills and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
