We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering/CIC Team in Wigan. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and intervention services to children in care and foster families.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Conducting assessments and developing care plans for children in need of fostering or in care Providing direct support to children and young people in foster care placements Working collaboratively with foster carers, families, and other professionals to ensure the well-being of children Participating in case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings as required Advocating for the best interests of children and promoting their rights and welfareEssential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a valid HCPC registration Experience working within a children's social work setting, preferably in fostering or looked after children teams Strong assessment and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situationsIn addition to the essential qualifications and skills, candidates with experience in trauma-informed practice and knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to children's services will be highly desirable.
