Children's SW - Fostering Team - Wigan

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Wigan. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and guidance to children in foster care, as well as to foster families, ensuring the well-being and safety of all involved.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Assessing the needs of children entering the fostering system and developing individual care plans
  • Conducting regular visits to foster homes to monitor the child's progress and ensure their welfare
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as therapists and educators, to provide comprehensive support
  • Participating in team meetings, case reviews, and court hearings to advocate for the best interests of the child
  • Providing crisis intervention and support to children and families in challenging situations

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and families in a social work setting
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
