We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Safeguarding Team in Walsall. This pivotal role involves providing expert guidance and support to social work practitioners, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families within our community. You will play a key role in assessing complex cases, developing safeguarding plans, and collaborating with multi-agency partners to deliver the best outcomes for those in need.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing supervision and mentorship to social work staff, fostering professional development and best practices. Conducting comprehensive assessments and leading safeguarding investigations. Developing and implementing effective safeguarding plans in collaboration with families and external agencies. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Participating in case reviews and contributing to strategic planning within the team.The ideal candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have significant post-qualification experience in child safeguarding and a sound understanding of legislation and best practices in the field. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
