We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Safeguarding Team in Walsall. This pivotal role involves providing expert guidance and support to social work practitioners, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families within our community. You will play a key role in assessing complex cases, developing safeguarding plans, and collaborating with multi-agency partners to deliver the best outcomes for those in need.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing supervision and mentorship to social work staff, fostering professional development and best practices.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and leading safeguarding investigations.
  • Developing and implementing effective safeguarding plans in collaboration with families and external agencies.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participating in case reviews and contributing to strategic planning within the team.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have significant post-qualification experience in child safeguarding and a sound understanding of legislation and best practices in the field. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
