Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family & Friends Fostering Assessing Social Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in assessing and supporting family and friends who are willing to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in need. As a Family & Friends Fostering Assessing Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of prospective family and friends foster carers. Preparing detailed reports for panel presentations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Providing ongoing support and guidance to foster families, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to promote the welfare of children and ensure their best interests are met. Participating in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in fostering practices.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in fostering assessments or child protection social work. Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and professionals.
