We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Team in Oxfordshire. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing support and intervention to children and young people with complex needs, ensuring their well-being and safeguarding.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Assessing the needs of children and families, and developing care plans to address those needs Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health and education professionals, to provide holistic support Undertaking statutory assessments and reviews in line with legislation and local authority guidelines Advocating for the rights and best interests of children and young people with SEND Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and other relevant meetings as requiredThe ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree and HCPC registration Experience working with children and families in a social work setting, preferably within SEND Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children's services and SEND Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisionsIn addition to the above requirements, the successful candidate will be expected to undergo an enhanced DBS check and hold a valid UK driving license.
