Child Protection Chair - Nottingham City

Nottingham City is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Chair to lead our efforts in safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. As a vital member of our Qualified Social Work team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children at risk are protected and supported effectively while working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including social workers, health professionals, and families.

Key responsibilities of the Child Protection Chair include:

  • Chairing Child Protection Conferences and ensuring that all meetings are conducted in a child-centered manner.
  • Facilitating discussions that promote the best interests of children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Reviewing and monitoring child protection plans, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to develop and implement effective safeguarding strategies.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
