Are you an experienced social worker with a passion for child protection? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team in Birmingham. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for protecting vulnerable children and ensuring their safety and well-being. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families in crisis situations.
  • Developing and implementing child protection plans in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to junior social workers and support staff.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony when necessary.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
