Senior Practitioner - Extra Familial harm - Southwark
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner specializing in Extra Familial Harm to join our dynamic team in Southwark. This role is pivotal in safeguarding young people from harm that occurs outside of their immediate family environment. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including schools, community organizations, and law enforcement agencies, to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and adolescents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of young people's needs and risks associated with Extra Familial Harm.
- Developing and implementing effective intervention plans tailored to individual cases.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and other team members.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to facilitate a coordinated response to identified risks.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local authority guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, particularly in relation to Extra Familial Harm.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with young people and their families.
