We Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children’s Services team on the beautiful Isle of Wight. This pivotal role involves working with children and families to provide support, advocacy, and intervention in complex situations. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead and mentor a team of social workers, ensuring that best practices are upheld and that the needs of vulnerable children are met effectively.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, promoting professional development.
  • Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and follow-ups.
  • Engaging with external agencies and stakeholders to coordinate services and resources.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in children’s social work, including child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, families, and professionals.
