We are currently seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Children Looked After Team in Shropshire. As a Senior Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of children looked after, ensuring their needs are met through effective assessment and intervention.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior staff and social work students, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to develop and implement care plans that prioritize the best interests of children.
  • Conducting regular reviews and assessments to ensure that children are receiving appropriate care and support.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with legislation and organizational policies.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognised social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with children in a social work setting, preferably within a looked after children framework.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and independently, demonstrating excellent decision-making abilities.
