We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work – Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care while promoting their development and stability.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and working collaboratively with partner organizations.
  • Providing support, guidance, and advocacy for children and young people in care.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly within the looked after children framework.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and manage a complex caseload.
