An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join a Families First Team in Bexley. This role is ideal for a qualified social worker who is passionate about supporting children, young people and families to achieve positive, lasting change through relationship-based and strengths-focused practice.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a varied and complex caseload, undertaking high-quality assessments, care planning and reviews. You will work collaboratively with children, parents, carers and partner agencies to identify needs, reduce risk and promote the best possible outcomes. Your responsibilities will include providing effective social work interventions, responding to safeguarding concerns, preparing clear reports and ensuring that practice is compliant with relevant legislation, guidance and professional standards.

You will also contribute to the development of colleagues by offering reflective supervision, mentoring and practice guidance. The role involves supporting newly qualified and less experienced social workers, sharing expertise within the team and helping to promote consistent, evidence-informed practice. You may also be expected to take a lead on specific areas of practice, contribute to service improvement activity and represent the team at meetings and multi-agency forums.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You will have substantial post-qualification experience in children and families social work, including safeguarding, child protection and working with complex family circumstances. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, assessment frameworks and statutory procedures is essential, together with the ability to analyse information, make sound professional judgements and manage competing priorities.

We are seeking a confident and resilient professional with excellent communication, organisation and report-writing skills. In return, you will have access to ongoing professional development, regular supervision and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children and families within a supportive, collaborative environment.
