Children's SW - Assessment Team - Achieving for Children

Join our dynamic Assessment Team at Achieving for Children as a Children’s Social Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. In this position, you will conduct thorough assessments to determine the needs of children and their families, ensuring that they receive the appropriate support and intervention. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial and comprehensive assessments of children and families in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans that reflect the needs and wishes of children and their families.
  • Working closely with schools, health services, and other agencies to coordinate support for children.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural standards.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of best practices within the team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
