We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manchester - CP Chair / Safeguarding Review Officer to join our dynamic team on an Umbrella contract basis, offering a competitive rate of £40 per hour. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families within our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work and a deep understanding of safeguarding policies and practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Chairing Child Protection Conferences and ensuring a collaborative approach among multi-agency partners.
  • Conducting comprehensive safeguarding reviews and providing expert analysis to inform practice improvements.
  • Developing and implementing action plans based on review findings to enhance safeguarding measures.
  • Providing training and support to social work staff and partner agencies on safeguarding protocols.
  • Engaging with families and children to ensure their voices are heard during the safeguarding process.

Essential qualifications and skills for this role include:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding within a local authority setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience in chairing meetings or conferences.
