Children's SW - Duty & Assessment Team - Shropshire

Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Duty & Assessment Team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community. As a member of our team, you will undertake assessments, provide support, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial assessments to identify the needs of children and families.
  • Developing and implementing intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of all interactions.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to service development initiatives.
  • Providing advice and support to other professionals and stakeholders.

To be considered for this position, you must hold a recognized social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, critical thinking, and a thorough understanding of child protection legislation and frameworks. Experience working within a statutory children's services environment is highly desirable.
