We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Tameside Duty & Assessment team. As a vital member of the team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and families in the Tameside area.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Undertaking timely and thorough assessments of children and families in need of support or protection
  • Developing and implementing care plans that address the specific needs of each individual case
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Participating in duty rota systems to respond to urgent child protection concerns
  • Providing support and guidance to less experienced team members

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid HCPC registration
  • Proven experience in a duty and assessment team within a social work setting
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to child protection
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in challenging situations
